    The Neglected Heart Regenerated

THE IMPACT OF ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE

Ischemic heart disease effects 1 in 12 people and is the number one cause of death worldwide. This medical condition results from narrowed coronary arteries that reduce the blood flow and oxygen to the heart. Severe cases, such as  heart attacks, can trigger a cascade of damaging events, including scar tissue formation, ventricular remodeling, heart failure, and eventual death.
No curative treatment options are available for patients affected by heart disease; instead, the current standard of care only focuses on symptom management and control of disease progression. Yet, ischemic heart disease remains one of the world’s leading health challenges, affecting millions and significantly impacting quality of life.

CARDIAC REGENERATION THROUGH RNA THERAPEUTICS

At Summa Biotech, we believe more can be done! Our company's purpose is: “The Neglected Heart Regenerated”.  We are working on restoring damaged heart tissue by inducing regeneration of healthy cells and tissues using RNA therapeutics that alleviate symptoms, such as fatigue and chest pain, restore heart function, and enhance patient recovery and long-term survival. We harness the potential of gene therapy to create novel treatments for ischemic heart disease, drawing upon academic knowledge, state-of-the-art disease models, and cultivating a culture of team excellence. Additionally, when we talk about the "neglected heart," we mean the growing problems of obesity and type 2 diabetes, which significantly increase the risk of ischemic heart disease.

With cardiac regeneration through RNA therapeutics, we aim to reduce the societal impact of ischemic heart disease!
